2012 Tri Jesus Triathlon and Kids/Youth Triathlon Details

Here is some important information about the race:

Date: Saturday, June 9, 2012

Sprint Triathlon Distances (15 and Older):  Swim 400 meters, Bike 13 miles, Run 5k (Classic Course)
Youth Distances (aged 11 - 14):  Swim 200 meters, Bike 5k, Run 2k
Kid Distances (10 and Under):  Swim 100 meters, Bike 2.5k, Run 1k

Packet Pick-up:
Friday Night from 6:00-8:00PM at Quincy YMCA. Please pick up packets on Friday. There will only be limited packet pickup available on Satuday.

Bring the above form with you to the Quincy Family YMCA at the Packet Pick-up (6-8pm on Friday night). Or, you can bring it to the race venue on Race Day (5-6:30am on Saturday) and register then assuming space is available.

Register online:
You can register online until June 4th.

Sprint Triathlon Distance Cost (increased after June 1st):
$46 Individual ($55 after June 1st)
$90 Team ($100 after June 1st)

Note:
Registration limited to 200. Register early to save your spot.

Youth/Kid Distances Cost (in preson registration needed after June 1st):

$27 Individual (after June 1st, you must register at YMCA, Expo, or Race Day)
$35 Team (after June 1st, you must register at YMCA, Expo, or Race Day)

Teams:
Teams can made up of two or three people.

Categories (subject to change):
Sprint Triathlon Individual Categories:  17 & under; 18 - 24; 25 - 29; 30 - 34; 35 - 39; 40 - 44; 45 - 49; 50 - 54; 55 - 59; 60 - 64; 65 - 69; 70 & above; Clydesdale (Men 200+ lbs); Athen (Women 150+ lbs);  
Sprint Team Categories: All Mens Team; All Womens Team; Coed Team; Family Team; Corporate Team; Church Team
Kids Categories***: Ages 10 & below
Youth Categories***: Ages 11 through & 14
Kids/Youth Team Categories***: All Boys Team; All Girls Team; Coed Team;
   ***based on child's age on race day

Purpose: 
It is the goal of TriJesus that the spiritual, mental, and physical health of the Quincy area may be lifted up by inviting Jesus to enter more deeply into our community, our families, and our hearts, that He might get His work done in us and the world.

Awards (subject to change): 

  • Awards to each Overall Winner, Top Male, Top Female (three total)
  • Awards given to top placer for individual age groups, top Athena, and top Clydesdale. 
  • Awards given to best team in 6 team divisions.
  • All Kids/Youth finishers will receive awards. There will be no placement awards for the Kids and Youth divisions.

Course Description: 
Sprint TriSprint Triathlon: The swim will be conducted in a 50 meter pool with a serpentine course.The bike leg (updated because of construction) will exit the park and do a loop through the country side. The run portion will be from the transition area through a course laid out around the park and finish at the transition area.

Race Rules and Notes: 
Course marshals have final authority to remove a participant from the race for rule violations. Contestant will be required to wear race number during bicycling and running portions. All contestants must provide their own bicycles and are responsible for maintenance during and security following the race. Swim goggles or face masks are allowed. No participant may be towed, pulled in or helped in any other way during the competition. Bicycling will take place on public roads. All participants and crews are subject to the regulations that apply to public roads. Running will take place on public access areas. No drafting. Helmets are mandatory. Event will take place rain or shine.
